| Dancer Dancers are the people that really make Dance Marathon possible! Each dancer has a goal to raise $275 for the children at St. Vincent 's Mercy Children's Hospital and they stay on their feet for 32 hours during Dance Marathon itself, which occurs in March. During Dance Marathon they will learn a "line dance" that is taught throughout the marathon (which is super fun!), also, the Miracle Children, who benefit from the money raised, will be there so the dancers can play with them. Dancers also can hang out with members of their organization, meet new friends, participate in games - all while making miracles happen! Dancers are many times compared to the children we help, this is primarily because of the pain that is experienced during the 32 hours. This pain is supposed to represent only a fraction of the pain that is experienced by the children that the money we raised helps. For even more information about being a dancer, check out the handbook, which is on this page! If you would like to be involved in Dance Marathon as a dancer, fill out a dancer registration form, which is available on this page. You can turn in the form, along with any money raised to the Dance Marathon Office (417 Bowen Thompson Student Union). Do you want a friend to be your moraler? Look on the moraler tab to find out what it is all about and have your friend fill out the moraler form and register at the same time. You can also request your friend to be your moraler on your registration form! If you have any more questions you can stop by the Dance Marathon Office or e-mail dmdancers@gmail.com |
